Publishing
Highlander Press publishes books, journals, essays, and visual works shaped by field research, independent scholarship, and long-term collaboration.
We are especially interested in works on highland worlds, Indigenous knowledge, religion, ecology, medical pluralism, anthropology, visual culture, and cultural life beyond the usual centres of academic production.
At this stage, Highlander Press considers proposals selectively. Prospective authors and editors are welcome to contact us with a short proposal before sending a full manuscript.
A book proposal should normally include:
• A working title and subtitle
• A short description of the project
• The intended readership
• A provisional table of contents
• A short author or editor biography
• The estimated word count
• The current status of the manuscript
• Any relevant sample material, if available
